Telehealth Appointments
Telehealth & Behavioral Health
Telehealth has rapidly transformed the landscape of behavioral health care, becoming a widely accepted and essential mode of treatment delivery across the United States. While adoption of telepsychiatry was relatively limited prior to 2020—available in only about 16% of U.S. hospitals in 2017—the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated its use dramatically, pushing providers and patients alike to embrace virtual care.
Today, telehealth is not just a temporary solution—it is a permanent and growing part of behavioral health services. The U.S. telepsychiatry market is projected to grow significantly, reflecting both increased demand and sustained adoption.
Behavioral health, in particular, has seen some of the highest and most sustained use of telehealth compared to other medical specialties. Virtual care has expanded access to treatment, reduced barriers such as transportation and stigma, and allowed patients to receive consistent, high-quality care from the comfort of their own homes. Research continues to show that telehealth services in mental health are well-received by patients and can be as effective as in-person care for many conditions.
At Maryland Behavioral Health Clinic, we embrace telehealth as a powerful tool to meet patients where they are—providing flexible, accessible, and compassionate care without compromising quality.

Medication Management
Mental Health Medication Management
-
Depression (Major Depressive Disorder) – Persistent feelings of sadness, low energy, and loss of interest in daily activities.
-
Anxiety Disorders – Including generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and social anxiety, often involving excessive worry, fear, or physical symptoms like a racing heart.
-
Bipolar Disorder – Characterized by shifts between depressive episodes and periods of elevated mood or energy.
-
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – Ongoing distress following exposure to trauma, including flashbacks, nightmares, or heightened anxiety.
-
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) – Difficulty with focus, impulsivity, and/or hyperactivity that impacts daily functioning.
-
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) – Recurrent intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors (compulsions).
-
Schizophrenia & Psychotic Disorders – Conditions that may involve hallucinations, delusions, or disorganized thinking.
-
We offer long-acting injectable medications as a convenient and effective option for managing certain mental health conditions. These medications—often referred to as long-acting injectables (LAIs)—are commonly used to treat conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mood or psychotic disorders.
Anti-Craving Medication Management
-
Buprenorphine (Suboxone®, Subutex®) – A partial opioid agonist that reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms while lowering the risk of misuse and overdose.
-
Brixadi® (Extended-Release Buprenorphine Injection) – A newer injectable form of buprenorphine available in both weekly and monthly doses. It provides steady medication levels, reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms, and offers flexibility during early stabilization and long-term maintenance.
-
Sublocade® (Monthly Buprenorphine Injection) – A long-acting, once-monthly injection that delivers a consistent level of buprenorphine over time. It helps reduce cravings, prevent withdrawal, and eliminate the need for daily medication, improving consistency and adherence in recovery.
-
Naltrexone (Vivitrol® Injection) – A non-opioid, extended-release medication given monthly that works by blocking opioid receptors. This prevents the euphoric effects of opioids and helps reduce cravings, making it a strong option for relapse prevention once detox is complete.
-
Acamprosate (Campral®) – Supports brain stabilization and helps maintain abstinence.

Gene-Sight Testing
we offer GeneSight testing—an advanced, personalized approach to medication management. This simple, non-invasive genetic test analyzes how your body may respond to certain psychiatric medications based on your unique DNA.
By understanding how you metabolize and process medications, GeneSight helps our providers make more informed treatment decisions—reducing the trial-and-error process often associated with mental health care. This means faster relief, fewer side effects, and a more targeted path toward stability and wellness.
GeneSight testing can be especially helpful for individuals who have struggled to find the right medication for conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mental health diagnoses.
Our goal is simple: to provide you with care that is personalized, effective, and built around you.
